Interview with Michel Navratil
My brother and I were lying on two bunks. I saw that my father had come to awake me. Along with him was a passenger, a man I didn't know. Then, he told me to get up and get dressed and he took me in his arms. The other passenger also took my brother in his arms.
This memory, I have this feeling that it was only yesterday. So vivid it has remained. My father dropped me into the lifeboat and then asked me to tell my mother how much he loved her.
Curator's Note: This interview was compiled from clips from the 1994 A&E documentary, Titanic: Death of a Dream. This transcript reflects the English translation from the original French in that documentary.
